Things To See And Do

There is such a wealth of history and art to enjoy in Birmingham that often goes unnoticed on a day to day basis. When exploring further, you start to unravel all the culture that this city has to offer.

We are an easy commute to Birmingham Airport, the world-famous NEC complex and the ever popular Genting Arena, all a 10-minute train ride from and to Birmingham New Street Station. There are many leisure and sports amenities on offer including Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Edgbaston Golf Club and Priory Tennis Club. Close by to No.8 Waterloo Street you will find a  range of well equipped local gyms; a favourite feature for many of our corporate guests who stay with us weekly all year round.

As we say don’t forget to spend some time at Birmingham’s stunning St Phillips Cathedral, pop to The Ikon Gallery, visit the Jewellery Quarter, book a walking or canal tour. Maybe take a trip down to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, which is home to some of the world’s largest public collection of Pre-Raphaelite art and a fascinating collection of Egyptian mummies.

Places To Shop

If you are looking for some retail therapy, then Birmingham will not disappoint, as the city is home to awarding winning fashion outlets, salons and hundreds of well known high street brands, there is something for every taste.

Of course, Birmingham is also home to the famous Bullring being one of the most well-known shopping centres in the UK, with over 200 different retailers and 40 plus places to eat and drink. Or you can head down to the new kid on the block, Grand Central, which is located above Birmingham New Street train station, here you will find a multitude of shopping experiences.

To mention The Mailbox which has just had many millions of pounds spent on it  and is home to some of the most premier shops you could ever ask for,  head here if you fancy a taste of luxury, including international retailers, upmarket salons, a lovely boutique, the Everyman cinema and the new Lane7 Bowling Alley.

Take time out to walk to Digbeth this is an area which is undergoing  a major regeneration, housing The Custard Factory with its independent shops from vintage to craft beer.

To Eat, Drink & Enjoy

Every popular leading city in the world has its own collection of places to eat and drink and Birmingham is no different, in fact, it stands out with its offering of famous restaurants, trendy bars and clubs

The iconic IVY restaurant and bar is a must to visit and as it is less than 100 metres away,  well situated for our guests when staying with us. Other places to eat that we recommend include Adams, Purnells, Sabai Sabai, Gusto, Gaucho and Tattu, there is so much choice on your doorstep. The nearby Colmore Row accommodates some really big corporate and well known places, including Alchemist, Joint Of Stock and Cafe 200.

Our most prestigious neighbour, Adam’s, the Michelin star restaurant of Chef Adam Stokes is literally right next door, so you can leave your apartment and enjoy fine dining within a few minutes.

Recent years has seen the emergence of the Digbeth Dining Club is the UK’s premier street food destination. Situated underneath the railway arches in Digbeth, Birmingham, DDC welcomes thousands of people every week to enjoy the UK’s finest in street food, in a relaxed, no frills environment.
